JUUN.J FW19 COLLECTION : SYNTHESIZE

The collection is a reinterpretation of shades and fabrics derived from 90’s sports items.

It brings silhouettes and structures from formal items together with a mixture of various fabrics presenting new Juun.J silhouettes.

Fashion Meets Function at Paris Fashion Week: Juun.J reimagines iconic Canada Goose styles for FW19

Celebrated ‘street tailoring’ Korean designer Juun.J has partnered with Canada Goose to showcase three of the Canadian brand’s heritage styles and a knitwear piece within his FW19 runway show at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris today.

Known for his minimal yet structured aesthetic, Juun.J has reworked several of the performance luxury brand’s most functional styles including the Snow Mantra, The Resolute and The Expedition parkas, as well as the Ashcroft Hoody.

Designed with purpose to perform and inspired by a shared commitment to craftsmanship and innovation, the Canada Goose x Juun.J styles effortlessly intersect function with high fashion. The reimagined parkas fuse the unmistakable identity of Juun.J with the classic design features of Canada Goose, including adjustable hoods, grab straps and reflective details. The Ashcroft Hoody is crafted with strategically placed nylon panels with down fill at the shoulders and hood, and ultra-fine merino wool at the body. This design uses Canada Goose’s Thermal Mapping technology to improve ventilation in areas that are known to overheat.

The Canada Goose x Juun.J styles will be available for men in the Canada Goose heritage red, black and military green colourways with oversized branding.

This is the first time the brands have partnered together, but Canada Goose is no stranger to the runway. The brand appeared in Marc Jacobs AW16, Opening Ceremony AW16, Vetements SS17, and Junya Watanabbe FW18 shows to name but a few.

Informed by the rugged demands of the Arctic, relentless innovation and uncompromised craftsmanship inspire the form and function of every Canada Goose piece. The 60-year-old Canadian brand has a rich history of outfitting people, including scientists, adventurers and film crews, in the world’s harshest conditions.
