WHISKY D’ARCHE, BORN IN SCOTLAND AND MATURED IN SAUTERNES

The first spirit to bear the stamp of the young house of D’Arche Spirits, Whisky d’Arche is a blended malt that is superb.
Sourced in the south of Scotland, it passes several months through the oak barrels used to age Château d’Arche, a grand cru classé since 1855. The result is a stylish whisky, rated 92/100 by star sommelier Andreas Larsson.

Whisky d’Arche comes to life in Scotland, the proud nursery of great whiskies. The malt is distilled and then aged for five years in a distillery located south of the Highland fault line. It then embarks for Bordeaux and travels about 40 kilometers up the Garonne River to the D’Arche Spirits winery, located at Château d’Arche. There, he waits for months in barrels that have been used to age Sauternes wines, which are among the most prestigious French sweet wines.

A WHISKY THAT COMBINES POWER AND SWEETNESS

Presented in a 700 ml bottle shaped like an amphora, as a nod to the distant times when spirits traveled in similar containers, Whisky d’Arche reveals itself on the nose with a subtle, even patina-like aroma of dried lemon, wheat, malt, nutmeg and honey. In the mouth, it is surprisingly fruity and perfectly balanced. Of whisky, it has the emblematic power. From the time spent in Sauternes barrels, it draws a rare sweetness that leads to a very high level finish, sublimated by a fine honeyed-vanilla touch that takes the place of ultimate delight.
