The Fall Winter 2020 collection is inspired by brutalist architecture. Its principals of inclusivity and true equality, the appreciation of materials as they are and the pure exhibition of geometric structures are what Marie-Christine Statz had in mind while creating this collection. Expressing the mood of today while aiming for permanence and timelessness.
The 41 looks of the Fall Winter 2020 collection declare a pure force. The focus on shapes, textures and silhouettes is stressed by solely styling monochrome looks starting with a black suit. Broad shoulders paired with a small waist is one of the key silhouettes that reappears in different forms throughout the Dé- filé. Dresses with full sleeves and pressed pleats, raw edges, and demonstrative tailoring details are made of textured wool and crêpes with a granular touch. Four full leather looks come in vanilla, tabaco, titanium and black. A pewter grey maxi dress, oversized shirt and a wrap-skirt are finished with long black leather fringes that come to full effect in movement. Blazers and long coats, partly with tuxedo detailing, are mixed in dark navy and black. With their V shape, they are designed for a loose fit and create a casual look that underlines the relaxed attitude of the GAUCHERE suiting. The colour palette Marie-Christine Statz chose to bring her vision to life circles around hues of grey from concrete to anthracite, shades of hazel, sand- stone, beige and off-white as well as an omnipresent black.
GAUCHERE is a French prêt-à-porter house founded in 2013 by the designer Marie-Christine Statz. Her vision is to create garments that point out the individual. Marie-Christine’s intuitive designs make a woman feelconfident. Attheheartofeachcollectionistheartoftailoring, intricateworkonpleatsandsculptural volumes.
The GAUCHERE woman is progressive part of today’s society. “Live and let live” is not just a phrase for her but an attitude towards life. She has her own style and knows what suits her.
