“This season I was driven by the idea of ‘sensual sustainability’ – to design

something super glamorous from upcycled green stock. This is also the first time we’ve worked in patterns with the Swarovski crystals, creating a constellation of mix-and-match stones across different fabrics.” – Kevin Germanier

FEBRUARY 25, 2020 (Paris) – Designer Kevin Germanier, known for his use of upcycled luxury materials and sustainable processes, presented his AW20 collection at Paris Fashion Week supported by Swarovski with over 158,000 upcycled crystals as part of the company’s #CrystalOnTheCatwalkinitiative.

Paris-based Swiss designer Kevin Germanier’s Autumn/Winter 2020 collection showcased a galactic explosion of upcycled Swarovski crystal across ready-to-wear looks and accessories. Swathes of shimmering Swarovski stones appeared across glamourous gowns, tops, skirts, jeans and a t-shirt emblazoned with a ‘Finish the Fight’ message. Earrings created in collaboration with Korean jewelry brand Beauton featured upcycled crystal pendants, and Swarovski stones were also used across Germanier’s sparkling set design, creating a dazzling atmosphere at Christie’s in Paris. This was the fifth time Swarovski has collaborated with Kevin Germanier, who has been heralded for his innovative approach to sustainable glamour.
