SPRING / SUMMER 2020
New York, September 9th, 2019
“The age of innocence.”
There was a time when the things that we now take so much for granted – mechanization, technology, global communications, international travel – were thrilling harbingers of a better future. This collection is a move to reclaim the naiveté and hopefulness of that age of discovery and possibility, but, as always, seen through a modern lens. Embracing the future while nodding to the past.
The challenges of today are pushing innovation in material development. Always committed to responsible and modern design practices, the collection juxtaposes highly technical, but paper-light, recycled polyester plisse rain coating with a tough cotton drill. Structured organic cotton knitwear, hand made by a community of women in Bolivia, is worn with sculptural polyurethane coated linen. An organic cotton/recycled poly jacquard is fresh and almost childlike in its polka dotted simplicity, but the shapes are sharp angled and precise in chalk, ink or aperol.
Dedicated to local production and reducing carbon footprints, 84% of the collection is made in New York City and for the first time, this collection will be shipped in compostable TIPPA packaging as well.
Shoes, made in Italy, feature metallic nappa leather, crocodile embossed heels and flats with twisted detailing.
