Couture Collection Fall-Winter 2018/19

Guest Member of the official calendar of Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week 2 nd July 2018, Les Salons France-Amériques 9-11 Avenue Franklin Delano Roosvelt,Paris 8éme In his Hymne à la Beauté Charles Beaudelaire recounts in verse the candour of beauty. A timeless beauty, as absolute as love that knows no boundaries, genders or barriers. Antonio Grimaldi takes inspiration from the verses of the French poet and translates the authors literature into his creations for his Autumn/Winter 2018/19 Couture collection to be presented at 18h on July 2 at Les Salons France-Amériques during the official Paris Haute Couture week calendar. Visual emotions for the contemporary punk queens and style icons that embrace a dark charm brings forward to the catwalk the sensual protagonist, honouring the Elizabethan and Victorian elegance of the English noblewomen with garments of linear and essential cuts. Minimal embroidery in fil coupé with plaques, chandelier like crystals on long dresses, appliques with plumage, sequins in velvet and leather. For fabrics, silk chiffon but also coupé organza with chenille embroidery, guipure lamé and gold liquid georgette, while powder pink vinyl sandals complete the look. The young Saudi model Taleedah Tamer acts as Muse for the winter collection from The House of Antonio Grimaldi, marking her first passes on the Parisian catwalks wearing the couturier’s creations. Another first, the debut of a mens collection, for a couture that looks beyond genders. With his sartorial mastery Antonio Grimaldi presents tuxedos with velvets and wool inlays, pleated chiffon t-shirts and resin embroidery that evokes the precious tailoring of women’s dresses combined with black velvet sneakers. A gaze towards the attitude of the British lords of the past, one among all, Oscar Wilde. Between the pages of a book of a love now forgotten or that no longer exists, dried flowers mark the memories and make them alive allowing us to close its candid pages. From here the clothes take shades of white and black, passing to rose ash, carmine red and azalea through to brass and platinum. Bijoux headpieces by Bernard Delettrez who continues his collaboration with Antonio Grimaldi and who for this collection has created a chocker of plug.
