Marimekko presented its Spring/Summer 2018 collection in its annual public fashion show in Helsinki’s Esplanade Park
Marimekko had its traditional public fashion show, an annual start to the summer season, on Friday 18 May 2018 at the Esplanade Park in Helsinki. The event, now organised for the 27th time, welcomed everyone and was free of charge.
This year the event is based around the theme of equality in honour of the 50th anniversary of the beloved Marimekko classic Tasaraita.
In 1968 Marimekko designer Annika Rimala created a new symbol for the era of unisex for everyone irrespective of age and gender. Tasaraita, Marimekko’s symbol of equality was born.
The clothes featured in the fashion show were from Marimekko’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection that premiered at Paris Fashion Week last October.
