Pour sa collection Printemps Eté 2018, Ziad Nakad a décidé de célébrer celle que l’on appelle « la déesse du blé » ou encore « la Mère de la Terre ». Déesse qui recueille les fruits de la terre et les offre à l’humanité ; son culte est particulièrement florissant dans les contrées où cette céréale se trouve en abondance, en Sicile, dans la région d’Éleusis, en Crète, en Thrace et dans le Péloponnèse.
Tel un oiseau survolant les récoltes, parfaitement libre, traversant un ciel coloré, resplendissant et singulièrement géométrique : le bleu pâle du firmament se mêle au jaune et à l’or du blé, au vert de la terre, au corail de l’océan et au bronze des arbres au soleil couchant. Des épis de blé parsèment les robes, hommage à la représentation la plus iconique de la déesse Déméter. Robe après robe, Ziad Nakad joue un jeu subtil qui célèbre la vie dans un savoir faire maîtrisé et précis et par des broderies de soie sublimées de tulles.
Ziad Nakad a créé cette collection pour une femme forte, assumée, volontaire mais aussi et surtout généreuse, en s’inspirant d’une des divinités les plus favorables aux humains, comme un symbole d’accomplissement et de paix.
