LG Innovators Ball 2011

A night of sensory deception, deceiving and delighting the five senses was the theme for this year’s Annual LG Innovators’ Ball. The Ballroom’s Executive Chef, Tawfik Shehata prepared a whimsical menu for 500 dinner guests that piqued their palates and intrigued their senses. « I’m eating in the dark! » tweeted one party-goer, « Oh My God, I love lasers. » I missed the $150/ticket multi-course dinner and light show. If the food at the exclusive party that followed was any indication of what they were serving, then I missed out big time.

The Ontario Science Centre’s annual charity event began with a reunion with an old friend in the Joe Fresh Lounge, followed with a wine and cheese tasting mission with the beautiful boho-chic princess and Joe Fresh PR intern, Maddalen Pasini. It took a while for the timid Toronto A-listers to hit the funky illuminated dance floor. The long queue for free manicures and hand massages might have had something to do with it. Once the go-go dancers took to their podiums and the freshly manicured ladies had gotten some drinks in them, they managed to drag their boys to the dance floor and started groovin’ harder than Carlton at a Tom Jones concert.

The interior was beautifully decorated and thoughtfully laid out. The best spot in the house however, had to be The Terrace. The patio let the crowd enjoy the fresh spring air and the beautiful view while lounging under the heat lamps. Great area to mix and mingle. New found friend Massoud’s wild blond Russian girlfriend dragged me to the bar where she doused oyster after oyster in hot sauce and started force feeding them to me. We shucked all night. Chasing the tasty P.E.I. oysters with cold shots of Canadian Iceberg Vodka. Complimentary Nicaraguan cigars provided by Camacho and served up by three cute Colombians only added insult to injury. I was so wasted that my red pants began to look black.

One of the year’s biggest charity events, it drew local celebrities and socialites the likes of Canadian model Monika Schnarre, Miss Universe Canada 2010 Elena Semikina, television anchor Anne Mroczkowski, Tchad Magazine’s Chad Cranston and George Sully, Greta Constantine’s Kirk Pickersgill, the night’s event planner Jeffry Roick, and plenty of other styling fashioinistas, media types, moguls, and models with names I can’t even pronounce. I fell in love a few times last night. Joe Fresh runway models Dara, Sarah, and Olie (Elmer Olsen Model Management) took some time out for an It’s All Style To Me interview. They dished out some men’s fashion tips, shared their idea of a great date, talked manners, and how they found feminism so like, 1990s.

Proceeds from last night’s event support the Ontario Science Centre’s community access and outreach initiatives, which help keep programs affordable and accessible to all members of the community. LG Electronics Canada is the title sponsor. Other sponsors include Tiffany & Co., TELUS, Scotia Capital, TAXI Advertising, Cisco, CGI, Roy Foss Motors, Wilson International, Joe Fresh Style, Stratus Vineyards, Davis + Henderson and Porter Airlines. If you guys missed this one, you’ll definitely need to mark it down for next year. For LG Innovators’ Ball photos, please visit the It’s All Style To Me Facebook Page.
