Maria Grachvogel
Spring / Summer 2011
A sleek and elegant minimalism swept through Maria Grachvogel for S/S 2011
as the designer departed from last seasons old glamour inspired collection.
It was an exercise in subdued luxury for the designer as she explored functionality without loosing
the allure of high fashion for it’s target woman, focusing on a paired down silhouette.
The strength of the collection lies in the modern draped dresses where Grachvogel showcased
great restraint and understanding of what the urban woman wants for spring.
And she wants chic simplicity in stark contrast to the hard edged woman we have seen in recent years.
Highlight include beautiful palazzo pants in muted tones accentuated with electric and airy yellow blouses.
Tailored pieces came in fluid fabrics appearing delicate and utterly wearable.
Slouchy pocketed shorts and drape-back blazers in light wool chalis and crepe trousers.
A well executed spring effort that I am sure will guarantee the success of the designer’s Asian expansion
